ii.On the Climate finance issue, the world needs more & recommended to plan for USD 1 trillion in grants to the developing world immediately.
iii.Highlighted on how COVID-19 has taught to survive on less & world must think about adopting more sustainable consumption patterns in line with requirements of sustainable lifestyles.
iv.Mentioned about India’s nationally determined contributions over the ten-year period are ambitious and are in line with the Paris Agreement’s temperature goal & world’s opportunity today to accelerate renewable energy deployment and create new green jobs in the renewable energy and energy efficiency sector.
Gist about the dialogue
i.It has been hosted by Germany since 2010 to provide a forum for informal high-level political discussions, which focus on climate negotiations and the advancement of climate action.
ii.It was co-chaired by Germany and the United Kingdom(UK), the incoming Presidency of the 26th Conference of Parties (COP 26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
iii.The dialogue comes at a particular period when countries are tackling the COVID-19 pandemic to save lives, overcoming social and economic consequences of the pandemic & preparing to move into the implementation phase of Paris Agreement under UNFCCC in the post-2020 period.
